Who was Helios?

Helios was the Greek god of the sun. Each morning he drove his sun-chariot drawn by four winged steeds across the sky and gave light to the earth. The Colossus of Rhodes, one of the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World, was a statue of Helios built on the Greek island of Rhodes.
